About the Role
Senior QA Automation Engineer to build automated test coverage for e-commerce platforms, embed automation throughout the development process, and carry out manual testing where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write and maintain automated end-to-end tests for web and mobile storefronts
- Build and troubleshoot tests across multiple browsers, devices and locales, including cloud device grids (e.g. LambdaTest, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs)
- Create and maintain API-driven tests to validate backend behavior alongside the UI
- Investigate test failures, distinguish real bugs from flaky tests, and report issues clearly
- Extend and evolve the test automation framework (patterns, reliability, CI reporting)
- Mentor other engineers on automation best practices and collaborate with developers/product to improve testability and coverage
- Perform manual/exploratory testing as needed — for new features ahead of automation, edge cases, or releases where automated coverage isn't yet in place
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong JavaScript (Node.js) experience
- Hands-on expertise with a modern browser automation tool (e.g. Playwright, Cypress) and BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin)
- Solid understanding of e-commerce user flows (browsing, cart, checkout, account, returns)
- API testing experience — building requests, validating responses, using APIs for test data setup
- Experience running tests on cloud device/browser grids (e.g. LambdaTest, BrowserStack)
- Comfortable reading/writing SQL for test data verification
- Strong manual/exploratory testing skills alongside automation
- Git-based workflow and CI/CD familiarity
