About the Role

BigGen Labs is establishing an advanced molecular diagnostics laboratory in New Delhi for the early detection of liver cancer, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in high-risk adults. The company's primary offering, HelioLiver™, is a blood-based test that utilizes cell-free DNA methylation analysis alongside established serum protein markers for HCC surveillance. BigGen Labs is constructing a facility equipped for NGS, real-time PCR, and immunochemistry workflows, with quality systems aligned with ISO 15189 from the outset. The team collaborates with leading hepatology centers to gather India-specific clinical evidence, designing the entire sample-to-report process with clinicians and patients in mind. BigGen Labs partners with specialists, hospital networks, and diagnostic entities to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of liver cancer surveillance.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide comprehensive strategic, operational, and commercial leadership for BigGen Labs, ensuring the successful launch and expansion of HelioLiver™ and associated molecular diagnostics services in India. This full-time, on-site role, based in New Delhi, involves setting the vision and direction, and driving execution across laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, partnerships, and market development. The CEO will manage financial oversight, budgeting, and resource allocation; guide business planning and performance monitoring; and lead cross-functional teams in science, operations, and commercial areas. The role also entails cultivating relationships with hepatologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, hospital networks, diagnostic partners, investors, and regulators, in addition to representing the organization externally. The CEO is expected to promote a culture of quality, ethics, and innovation, ensuring all activities align with ISO 15189-oriented systems and evidence-based precision oncology practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic, operational, and commercial leadership.
• Ensure successful launch and growth of HelioLiver™ and related molecular diagnostics services.
• Set vision and direction, and drive execution across laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, partnerships, and market development.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Guide business planning and performance monitoring.
• Lead cross-functional teams in science, operations, and commercial functions.
• Build and nurture relationships with hepatologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, hospital networks, diagnostic partners, investors, and regulators.
• Represent the organization externally.
• Foster a culture of quality, ethics, and innovation.
• Align all activities with ISO 15189-oriented systems and evidence-based precision oncology practices.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong financial management capabilities, including Finance, budgeting, and capital allocation.
• Proven experience in Operations Management, with oversight of complex laboratory or healthcare operations.
• Demonstrated ability in Business Planning and execution, including building and scaling healthcare or diagnostics ventures.
• Track record in Sales, commercial development, and relationship-building with clinicians, hospital networks, and diagnostic partners.
• Expertise in Strategic Planning, market positioning, and long-term growth in healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences.
• Familiarity with quality and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 15189, NABL, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with molecular diagnostics or precision oncology is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in business, healthcare management, life sciences, or a related field.
• An MBA or equivalent leadership education is advantageous.
