Software Testing Intern
Shure India
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and technically curious Software Testing Intern to join our Quality Engineering team. The intern will gain hands-on experience in end-to-end product validation, test automation, continuous integration, and AI-assisted software testing while collaborating with developers and experienced QA professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the product architecture, workflows, customer use cases, requirements, dependencies, and quality risks across the complete project lifecycle.
- Assist in testing software applications to validate functionality, reliability, performance, usability, and integration behavior.
- Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases; document results with clear evidence and traceability.
- Identify, reproduce, report, and track defects; collaborate with developers to support root-cause analysis and verification of fixes.
- Participate in functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing activities.
- Contribute to test strategy, test plans, test data, test environments, and quality documentation.
- Explore and apply modern automation tools and frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Integrate automated tests with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines and analyze pipeline results, logs, and failures.
- Prototype AI-assisted automation using LLMs, Generative AI, and AI agents for activities such as test generation, execution, defect analysis, failure triage, and test maintenance.
- Contribute to agentic AI solutions where software agents can plan and execute testing tasks, use tools, evaluate outcomes, and report findings with appropriate human review.
- Measure automation effectiveness, maintainability, execution stability, and test coverage, and recommend practical improvements.
- Learn and apply software testing methodologies, secure development practices, and quality engineering principles.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software development, debugging, software testing, SDLC, and STLC concepts.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Foundational understanding of test automation concepts, APIs, databases, SQL, source control, and defect-tracking tools.
- Essential exposure to and conceptual understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Agentic AI, including their practical use in software engineering or testing.
- Ability to understand a system end to end, learn unfamiliar technologies, analyze problems logically, and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, curiosity, collaboration skills, and willingness to experiment and learn.
Nice To Have Skills
- Familiarity with Jenkins or another CI/CD platform, including pipelines, build logs, test reports, and automated quality checks.
- Experience using Git-based workflows and development environments such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool/function calling, AI-agent frameworks, or model evaluation techniques.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, hallucination risk, output validation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
