About the Role
Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to support residents’ physical and emotional well-being in a warm, home-like environment at Bluff Creek Terrace Memory Care Community in Columbia, MO. This is a Full-Time position with Days, and Nights shifts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Provide compassionate physical and emotional support while preserving resident dignity.
- Monitor resident safety and observe for signs of distress or changes in condition.
- Accurately document resident care, activities, and changes as required.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and fellow caregivers regarding resident needs.
- Engage residents in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and BLS certifications are a plus — training available.
- Friendly, patient, and positive attitude.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to resident comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Demands
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed.
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance.
- Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
Work Environment
- Indoor senior living environment designed to promote comfort, safety, and engagement.
- Duties may include accompanying residents to supervised indoor or outdoor activities.
Pay: $16-$16.50
