Lab chemist

About the Role

The Lab Chemist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for supporting construction quality through laboratory testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and testing construction materials (e.g., concrete, aggregates, and soil).
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Documenting test results in accordance with established standards.
• Performing routine and specialized quality control tests.
• Calibrating instruments.
• Ensuring all procedures comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with project and site teams to interpret test data, troubleshoot material issues, and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret test results, identify trends, and support quality-related decisions.
• Solid Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, handling of chemicals and materials, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Experience with Laboratory Equipment, including operation, routine maintenance, and calibration of instruments.
• Quality Control and Calibration skills to ensure testing accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction materials testing standards (e.g., cement, concrete, aggregates) and applicable industry codes is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures.
• Ability to work safely in a laboratory and construction environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with site teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tests and priorities.
