About the Role
The UTM Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This role oversees ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTM) operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and document UTM inspections in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and relevant marine regulations.
- Coordinate inspection teams, allocate tasks, and provide technical guidance on measurement procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Review work scopes.
- Monitor progress.
- Validate measurements and reports.
- Liaise with clients, surveyors, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliverables.
- Maintain inspection equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety systems.
- Support training and development of technicians.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong expertise in ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTM), marine inspections, and related NDT techniques.
- Solid understanding of ship structures, hull integrity, and marine engineering principles.
- Experience supervising field teams, coordinating on-site activities, and enforcing safety procedures.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, inspection reports, and classification or regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, surveyors, and internal teams, with clear report writing abilities.
- Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, manage timelines, and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Comfort working in offshore, onshore, and confined-space environments, following all safety and compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel as required for project sites.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on operational demands.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- UTM/NDT certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in marine inspection, ship repair, classification surveys, or similar domains is highly beneficial.
