Model-Based Systems Engineer (Mid-Level), ASL
Georgia Tech Research Institute
About the Role
The Applied Systems Laboratory (ASL) Air and Missile Defense Systems (AMDS) Division of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Model-Based Systems Engineer. Located in Huntsville, Alabama, ASL conducts world-class applied research in system modeling, simulation, analysis, testing, evaluation, and software development in support of the government sponsors.
The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) develops and executes novel system model-based approaches to define, design, analyze, and document system development. The MBSE Researcher applies MBSE tool suites to enable the use of model-based best practices in DoD acquisition and system life cycle support. This position supports stakeholders and sponsors in the application of MBSE to trade space analysis, design, acquisition, and sustainment.

- Author UAF models capturing stakeholder needs and resulting enterprise architectures.
- Author SysML models capturing system requirements and design.
- Author data models capturing system data requirements and design.
- Conduct top-down functional analysis and translate requirements into detailed performance design criteria.
- Design and build templates to assist Subject Matter Experts in providing critical system information.
- Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into functional, logical, and physical architectures captured in a SysML model for systems of low complexity.
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements.
- Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes in a SysML model.
- Document system design, processes, interactions in SysML model.
