About the Role
The Pharmacist role at MedPlus in Chennai is a full-time, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing medications accurately
- Verifying prescriptions
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Counseling customers on proper medication use, possible side effects, and dosage instructions
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and high-quality service
- Managing inventory, checking expiry dates, and organizing stock
- Supporting store operations to ensure smooth workflow
- Collaborating with store staff and management to uphold safety protocols
- Supporting health awareness initiatives
- Contributing to an efficient, customer-focused pharmacy environment
Qualifications
- Relevant educational background, such as a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
- Valid registration from the appropriate Pharmacy Council
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and prescription verification, with a focus on patient safety
- Ability to provide clear medication counseling, maintain accurate records, and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements
- Competence in inventory management, including stock monitoring, expiry tracking, and ordering processes
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
- Comfort with using pharmacy management systems, POS tools, and basic computer applications
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a customer-centric mindset
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Previous experience in retail pharmacy or hospital pharmacy is an advantage
- Familiarity with wellness and FMCG products is an advantage
