About the Role
Senior Resident / Attending Consultant - Neuro Anaesthesia at Fortis.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-anesthetic assessment and preparation of patients.
- Discussion of any unusual patient characteristics with consultants.
- Provision of clinical anesthesia services in the operation theatre under the supervision of a Consultant, covering both routine and emergency cases.
- Provision of post-anesthetic care, including:
- Supervision of the Surgical ICU area.
- Monitoring (including clinical observation).
- Pain relief.
- Fluid therapy.
- Respiratory therapy.
- Management of adverse effects related to anesthesia.
- Management of preoperative medical problems.
- Consultation with a Consultant if required.
- Provision of standby anesthesia / general anesthesia for endoscopic procedures in the minor OT and endoscopy room.
- Provision of acute resuscitation services for the hospital as a member of a resuscitation team (“CODE BLUE” team).
- Performing or assisting in procedures as per authorized clinical privileges.
- Treating and managing inpatients.
- Assisting with the review of patient medical records for quality assurance studies.
- Gathering data for quality assurance studies.
- Actively participating in CME presentations and Journal clubs.
- Assisting the Consultant.
- Completing patient history forms, visiting patients, and reviewing medical records.
- Obtaining relevant clinical information for inclusion in reports.
- Contributing to research, camps, presentations, and referral replies to doctors.
- Serving as an in-house consultant for all emergency situations encountered in the hospital.
- Supervising all nursing, paramedical, and non-medical staff of the department to maintain discipline and a high standard of medical care as per standard operating procedures.
- Undertaking any other tasks assigned by the HOD/management.
