Job Summary

Supports the food service team with basic food preparation and service tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and preparing dishes.
• Serves food, ensuring portion control and adherence to dietary requirements.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Replenishes food supplies and ingredients in the kitchen and serving areas.
• Assists with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
• Assists chefs and other kitchen staff with various tasks.
• Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Operates cash register/POS system accurately for all transactions.
• Processes customer purchases efficiently while providing courteous and professional service.
• Follows cash handling procedures and ensures compliance with hospital policies.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience in food service or hospitality
• Ability to navigate rapidly changing situations, remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
• Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to follow precedents and procedures; may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
• Basic computer skills. Ability to use a departmental work application may be required.
