About the Role

Idaho National Laboratory's Cooperative Education Program (CO-OP) offers students an extended, hands-on opportunity to apply what they're learning in the classroom alongside nationally recognized scientists and engineers. Unlike a traditional internship, a CO-OP is a longer-term commitment, students typically work with INL for two or more terms (Fall, Spring, or Summer), and these terms do not need to be consecutive.

The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) is the prime testing center in the United States for advanced technologies associated with nuclear energy power systems. This complex is the nexus of research on new reactor fuels and related materials. MFC contributes significantly to the development of increasingly efficient fuels and the important work of nonproliferation.
