About the Role
Virtual Design Engineering Consultants (VDEC) is looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator – MEP to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of BIM processes, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery requirements across the USA and Middle East markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate MEP BIM activities across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection disciplines, ensuring seamless integration with Architectural and Structural models.
- Develop, review, and implement the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) in accordance with project requirements and client standards.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables.
- Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination meetings and collaborate with design teams, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Conduct clash detection and resolution using tools such as Autodesk Navisworks and Revit, ensuring coordinated and construction-ready models.
- Review BIM models for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and BIM standards.
- Monitor project progress, model development, deliverables, and coordination milestones against the agreed project schedule.
- Ensure compliance with relevant BIM standards, client-specific requirements, and project workflows for the USA and Middle East markets.
- Identify coordination issues, track resolution status, and maintain clash reports, coordination logs, and other project documentation.
- Support the preparation and review of shop drawings, coordinated layouts, fabrication drawings, and other BIM-related deliverables.
- Guide BIM engineers and modelers, monitor team performance, and ensure adherence to VDEC’s quality control procedures.
- Proactively identify project risks, resolve technical challenges, and communicate critical issues to project management.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience with BIM processes.
- Experience with multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience with project delivery requirements across the USA and Middle East markets.
- Proficiency in clash detection and resolution using Autodesk Navisworks.
- Proficiency in Revit.
