About the Role
As a Technology Risk and Compliance (TRC) Intern, you will focus on helping clients understand and mitigate their technology and cybersecurity risks. The TRC team’s service offerings include SOC 1®, SOC 2®, PCI, ISO, HIPAA, and many other IT risk and control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Control Attestations: Gain an understanding of client IT systems, infrastructure, and control environments, applying that understanding to IT risk and control frameworks such as SOC, PCI, HIPAA, ISO, FFIEC, NIST, CIS Security, and others.
- IT Risk Assessments: Be involved in assessing various IT risks and developing reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Controls Testing: Evaluate controls and understand the best way to test their effectiveness.
- Documentation: Learn to document procedures, results of tests, and conclusions.
- Administration: Track time and maintain designated chargeable hours.
Work Environment
- Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer screen.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Travel Required
- Some travel is required for team meetings twice a year at various offices.
- Some client travel may be required.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- 0 – 1 year of relevant experience
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent certificate
- Actively pursuing bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, or similar with an interest in information technology
Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Preferred)
- Experience with IT systems (Preferred)
Duration
- This is a temporary, less than six (6) month, internship position.
