About the Role
Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking bright and motivated students for an Actuarial Intern position to join our Corporate Actuarial team. This internship offers a hybrid schedule in Plymouth, MN or Boston, MA, with a projected start date in early June 2027, lasting approximately 10-12 weeks.
What You Will Learn
As an Intern, you will gain an overview of property-casualty insurance and Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions’ operations. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging, practical, and meaningful projects in disciplines including:
- Actuarial pricing
- Actuarial reserving
- Predictive modeling
- Stochastic financial modeling
- Data collection and reporting
- Information management
- Programming development
You will focus on developing skills by assisting professionals with day-to-day assignments and special projects, performing work similar to an entry-level actuarial professional.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs.
Qualifications
- Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation in December 2027 or later.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is a plus.
- Outstanding organization/time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Salary Range: $30 - $42/hour
