About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Fire Protection Engineer role based in Delhi, India.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review fire protection and suppression systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform fire safety and life safety calculations.
- Prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Support installation and testing activities.
- Prepare reports and documentation for approvals from regulatory authorities.
- Participate in risk assessments.
- Recommend safety improvements.
- Assist in client meetings and technical presentations.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
- Exposure to hydraulic calculation software is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Fire Protection Engineering and Safety Engineering.
- Knowledge of Fire Safety and Life Safety principles, including code compliance, emergency egress, and occupant safety considerations.
- Experience with Fire Suppression Systems (e.g., sprinkler systems, hydrant networks, fire alarms, gas-based suppression solutions).
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (e.g., NFPA, NBC India, local fire authority regulations).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to conduct site visits, inspections, and coordination activities.
- Prior experience in fire protection design or safety engineering projects is preferred, but motivated early-career professionals will also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
