About the Role

Anduril Industries is seeking a Classified Cloud & Platform Engineer to design, modernize, secure, and sustain systems and infrastructure supporting classified computing environments. This systems engineering focused role spans government cloud environments, including DoD Impact Level 5 (IL5) and higher, classified cloud platforms, and on-premises classified systems. The engineer will develop secure hybrid connectivity, strengthen infrastructure automation, and support mission-critical operations in air-gapped, disconnected, and restricted-connectivity environments. As a foundational member of the Cloud Networks team, you will assess inherited infrastructure, remediate architectural and operational deficiencies, and establish repeatable engineering and sustainment practices. You will partner with ISSMs, ISSOs, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, and Software Engineering to modernize systems while preserving mission availability and meeting applicable authorization requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, design, modernize, and sustain classified cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure; identify architectural deficiencies, technical debt, security gaps, and opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Engineer government cloud infrastructure, including DoD IL5+ environments and appropriately authorized classified cloud platforms; implement secure connectivity, network segmentation, and integration with on-premises systems while respecting classification boundaries.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or comparable tools; maintain version-controlled infrastructure artifacts, standardized deployments, and repeatable operational workflows suitable for restricted environments.
  • Design, deploy, and sustain Windows and Linux systems, virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, remote access services, and supporting platform components; integrate automation and internal tooling for provisioning, access management, and support.
  • Establish hardened system images, configuration baselines, patching and vulnerability remediation processes, and compliance validation for endpoints, servers, and applicable containerized workloads, including controlled software delivery in air-gapped environments.
  • Work directly with ISSMs, ISSOs, and Cybersecurity teams through JSIG or comparable authorization processes, including applicable RMF/DAAPM requirements; implement technical controls, document changes, support assessments, and maintain security evidence and approved baselines.
  • Establish engineering and operational standards for change control, configuration management, monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, architectural documentation, and incident response to improve supportability and mission resilience.
  • Partner with Network Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Program Management to deliver secure platform integrations, plan infrastructure migrations, remediate inherited deficiencies, and shape the modernization roadmap while minimizing mission disruption.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI), including any required program-specific access approvals.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a DoD 8140 compliant cybersecurity workforce qualification appropriate to the assigned role, including DOD 8570 IAT Level II equivalent certification requirements where applicable (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or an approved equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience engineering or sustaining classified, air-gapped, disconnected, or similarly restricted government information systems.
  • Experience working within JSIG or comparable classified system authorization processes, coordinating technical implementation and evidence with ISSMs/ISSOs; familiarity with applicable RMF and DAAPM requirements.
  • Strong systems engineering and administration skills across Windows and Linux, enterprise virtualization, storage, and core infrastructure services.
  • Hands-on experience engineering government cloud or hybrid infrastructure, including DoD IL5+ environments or appropriately authorized classified cloud services, and secure connectivity to on-premises systems.
  • Experience modernizing existing infrastructure, diagnosing systemic technical issues, and delivering remediation with appropriate change control.
  • Experience with system hardening, DISA STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, patch management, configuration baselines, and security control validation.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, including Terraform and Ansible, version-controlled IaC artifacts, and scripting with PowerShell, Python, or comparable tools.
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, segmentation, and secure access.
  • Understanding of identity and access management, authentication, authorization, and least-privilege principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cross-domain infrastructure issues, document technical decisions, and collaborate with cybersecurity and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) and collateral classified environments, including working with ISSMs/ISSOs and government security stakeholders.
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud, DoD IL5+ environments, appropriately authorized classified cloud services, or other government/private cloud platforms.
  • Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure, remote application delivery, brokers, gateways, or related access services.
  • Experience with endpoint/image management and automated compliance enforcement in environments without traditional Active Directory or Group Policy.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, artifact management, and controlled deployment processes in restricted environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure observability, centralized logging, resiliency, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
  • Experience creating scripts, APIs, or internal platform tools; familiarity with Go, Python, or comparable languages.
  • Experience establishing technical standards and operating practices for a new or evolving engineering team.
