2027 Finance Data Analyst Intern
Anduril Industries
About the Role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. We bring the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, changing how military systems are designed, built, and sold. Our systems are powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center.
About the Team
The Enterprise SG&A team within Corporate Finance builds the systems that power Anduril's SG&A finance teams. This includes data pipelines, automations, dashboards, and AI tools used for planning, forecasting, reporting, and closing. As Anduril scales, our goal is to ensure the finance organization's tooling scales with it. We are looking for an intern interested in the intersection of finance, data, and AI. You will work with real data, ship tools used by finance teams and department owners, and take on a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automations to replace manual steps in month-end close, reporting, and planning workflows.
- Write SQL and Python against Anduril's financial data warehouse (Databricks) to extract, clean, and analyze GL, vendor, and headcount data.
- Design self-serve dashboards and tools for finance partners and department owners to access information without ad hoc data requests.
- Apply AI to finance workflows, including building prompts, agents, and reusable skills, and testing their output for accuracy.
- Set up scheduled tasks and data refreshes for recurring deliverables.
- Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and business owners to understand current processes, identify bottlenecks, and design/document improved workflows.
- Build checks to detect data issues early, such as miscoded charges, duplicate spend, or discrepancies between source systems.
- Manage projects from initial concept through build, testing, and handoff, and continue to improve them post-launch.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to build clean, traceable models.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and P&L construction.
- Fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot), including prompt engineering: writing clear, structured prompts, iterating to improve output, and recognizing when AI output requires human review.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability for accurate numbers.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort with ambiguity and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or another cloud data platform.
- Experience building AI agents, LLM-powered tools, or reusable prompt workflows.
- Experience building bots, APIs, or automations (e.g., Slack apps, scheduled tasks, workflow tools).
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or building simple web dashboards.
- Coursework or projects in forecasting, time series, or statistical modeling.
- Familiarity with ERP or EPM systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Oracle EPM).
- Prior internship in FP&A, accounting, data analytics, or finance systems.
- Interest in defense, aerospace, or national security.
