FPGA Electrical Design Engineer I
Raytheon
About the Role
The Effector Digital Products (EDP) department develops electronics for weapon system products, engaging from the outset of development through deployment. We are responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of deliverable FPGA embedded processing. This role involves developing FPGA designs for major vendors and device families, including Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, and Lattice. Designs are implemented using VHDL and support applications such as gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) Digital Signal Processing (DSP), control loops, data links, embedded processing, and processor interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, select parts, architect the device, perform code development, simulation, and place and route.
- Verify designs against requirements using directed test and constrained random methodologies.
- Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test, and production.
- Document and configuration manage designs throughout the entire design process.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- FPGA designs for Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, and Lattice.
- Design implementation using VHDL.
- Applications: gigabit serial interfaces, RF and EO DSP, control loops, data links, embedded processing, and processor interfaces.
- Design verification methodologies: directed test and constrained random.
