About the Role
Join Jacksons Food Stores as a Retail Cashier / Customer Service Associate and be the friendly face our customers know and trust. This role involves providing exceptional customer service at the register, helping keep the store stocked and clean, and contributing to a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly attitude.
- Deliver a fast, accurate, and professional checkout experience.
- Promote current sales, specials, and suggestively sell to enhance customer experience.
- Process transactions accurately and responsibly, including alcohol and tobacco sales.
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including fuel islands.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with fresh and organized products.
- Assist in maintaining foodservice and coffee areas, including cleaning and restocking.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and labeling procedures.
- Support team members and complete additional duties as assigned.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Must be 21 years old to work in this role and for regulated product sales.
- Flexible availability for a 24/7 operation (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Ability to stand for an extended period.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications
- Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
- Quick thinking, adaptable, and dependable.
Pay: Starting at $16.25 - $17.25 an Hour
Shift: Days 8:00am - 5:00pm and Evenings 2:00pm -10:00pm
Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,250 per year
