Software Dev Engineer I

About the Role

SDE I(s) at Swiggy play an integral role in owning end-to-end Design/Architecture of complex systems. They co-own the technology vision of their respective team and significantly contribute to the overall success of the team. They partner with product/business teams to understand product features and specifications, translate them into high-level and low-level design, thereby facilitating the team in design and development of mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Enable best practices to help the team achieve their technical tasks and continually thrive in improving the technology of the product/team.
• Develop user-facing features and apps.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Strive for pixel-perfect implementation in all Android devices, being extremely detail-oriented.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Understand the internals of third-party libraries being used.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficient understanding of React Native and React Fundamentals.
• Experience and working knowledge of Android Native development.
• Good understanding of ES6 and above.
• Experience with Typescript is required.
• Sound knowledge of design patterns and practices for writing clean, linted, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Understanding of Version Control Systems like Git.
• Experience in using supplementary libraries like Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, Lerna is a plus.
• Experience in TDD (Test Driven Development) for Unit Testing with libraries like Jest, react-native-testing-library is a plus.

Qualifications

• B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college.
• 1-3 years of experience in a product development company (strong internship/project experience considered).
