Senior Architect

About the Role

The Senior Architect at WSP in India supports architectural design development, CAD/BIM modeling, and documentation for construction projects across various sectors. This role involves developing project designs, producing presentation drawings and sketches, resolving design complexities, and leading specific project aspects and teams. The Architect reports to the Project Lead or other senior team leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Project Lead or a senior project leader, develops, modifies, and reviews drawings, ensuring design intent is incorporated.
• Develops and implements project design concepts, BIM/CAD modelling, sketches, conducts research, prepares presentations and reports, and produces design and construction documents.
• Works on multiple projects, exploring new design solutions, completing tasks within deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources.
• Interacts with lead country-based clients, participates in project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, adhering to standards and archiving documents.
• Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards.
• Assists in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
• Prepares 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings, and renderings.
• Assists Project Designers and Project Architects with concept design development.

Task and/or People Management

• Assists the lead team and project team during the design documentation/production process, providing guidance and support.
• Manages design tasks and deliverables, reporting progress against the design program to the project lead.
• Reports on progress and risks associated with the program.
• Manages time efficiently and inputs into team meetings to review the design program.
• Manages junior colleagues, trainees, or interns when needed.

Business & Financial

• Supports the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan and forecasting resources.
• Provides input on project programming and/or financial planning.
