About the Role

The Owner of the IEEE EMBS Student Branch of SSN is a full-time, on-site role in Chennai responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and operational leadership for all branch activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing strategic direction, oversight, and operational leadership for all branch activities.
• Planning and supervising IEEE-recognized workshops, technical events, and outreach programs aligned with EMBS objectives.
• Coordinating with faculty advisors, student leaders, and external experts.
• Designing impactful initiatives that promote learning and research in biomedical engineering.
• Managing schedules and resources.
• Overseeing communications and promotions.
• Ensuring compliance with IEEE and institutional guidelines.
• Maintaining strong relationships with the broader EMBS community.
• Mentoring student members.
• Supporting collaborative projects.
• Continuously improving the branch’s academic, technical, and professional offerings.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong leadership, organization, and team management skills.
• Background in Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with technologies, research practices, and emerging trends in Biomedical Engineering.
• Ability to plan and execute events, workshops, and technical programs, including stakeholder coordination and logistics management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with basic administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
• Experience in academic or student organization governance, project management, or similar roles is highly beneficial.
• Prior involvement with IEEE or EMBS is an advantage.
