About the Role
Gen Re is seeking an Underwriter Associate for its Atlanta office, focusing on the Latin America region. This is a hybrid role that offers a high level of authority, productivity, and empowerment early in a career. Effective teamwork is paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess individual risk and related volatility for clients (insurance companies) using data research and rating models.
- Negotiate the transfer of risk, pricing, and terms & conditions directly with clients.
- Build lasting relationships with clients through marketing efforts, including client entertainment, industry events, meetings/presentations, and written communication.
- Travel opportunities to meet face-to-face with clients (30-50% marketing and travel).
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (verbal and written communication).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong client/marketing presentation skills.
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/priorities.
- Solid software skills.
- Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively across internal business units.
- Strong critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity.
Qualifications
- Prior intern or work-related industry experience.
- College degree.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $63,000.00 - $84,000.00 USD
- Total compensation may include base salary, potential eligibility for medical, dental, vision coverage, a retirement plan, paid time off, sick leave, holidays, and bonus or incentive compensation.
