Cloud Applications Developer

About the Role

OpenText is a global leader in information management. This role involves deploying services and applications, managing datacenter migrations and disaster recovery, and supporting production incidents. The role also focuses on enhancing automated operations and deploying containerized services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Development, Professional Services, and Customer Support teams to deploy services/applications.
• Serve as an expert on Datacenter migration of applications/services and Disaster Recovery Planning & execution.
• Conduct Post Implementation Reviews for bugs, fixes, and issues in production instances.
• Actively support production incidents and problems, performing root cause analysis.
• Provide feedback to Engineering and Professional Services teams to enhance service stability and resilience.
• Develop and enhance automated operations actions for deployment, support, and maintenance.
• Deploy containerized services into PaaS infrastructure.
• Gain knowledge on integration points of hosted applications and act as an implementation expert for CloudOps.
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors and their support organizations for impacts on OT hosted solutions.
• Prioritize work to ensure timely project deliveries.
• Available to work on weekends for scheduled maintenance and deployments.
• Participate in monthly 24x7 on-call support on a rotation basis.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experienced in Container based Application Deployments and DevOps tools.
• Experienced in CD.
• Experienced with J2EE.
• Proficient in Automation tools like Ansible/Chef/Puppet.
• Advanced skills in Python and/or Shell Scripting.
• Experience supporting Java applications built with frameworks such as spring, struts, spark.
• Working experience on RedHat and Windows Operations Systems based Physical / VM Machines.
• Proficiency in writing scripts (bash, ksh, perl, Powershell, Expect, AWK; Python is a plus).
• Expertise in analyzing Application containers performance, reviewing JVM Settings & thread dumps.
• Familiarity with LoadBalancers/F5, Firewalls, SMTP, DNS Services, Networking protocols.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as HP OM, New Relic, Zabbix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related.
• Developing and maintaining detailed documentation of work.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques.
• Understanding of ITIL processes.
