About the Role
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical:
- Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Leadership & Accountability:
- Demonstrate key behavioral competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and personal accountability.
- Environment and Safety:
- Ensure patient and unit safety.
- Comfort:
- Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy.
- Communication:
- Orient patients and families to the hospital environment.
- Facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Education: High School Diploma required.
- Licenses & Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required.
