About the Role

• This is a full-time, on-site Buyer role based in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing materials and products.
• Evaluating suppliers.
• Negotiating pricing and contract terms to support operational and project needs.
• Issuing purchase orders.
• Tracking deliveries.
• Maintaining accurate procurement records.
• Coordinating with internal teams to understand demand and specifications.
• Monitoring inventory levels.
• Analyzing market trends and cost data.
• Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and quality standards.
• Improving procurement processes.
• Contributing to vendor performance reviews.
• Supporting budgeting and cost-optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in purchasing or procurement, including vendor sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple purchase requests and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, and logistics.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and basic budgeting or cost-control practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in an on-site procurement role and familiarity with local suppliers in or around Chennai is an advantage.
