Route Trainee

About the Role

Join UniFirst as a Route Trainee (RT) and embark on a career in service and customer care. This role offers hands-on training through robust, blended learning programs, preparing you for a full-time Route Service Representative (RSR) position. You will support daily operations, assist with deliveries and service, and cover routes while learning multiple customer accounts. Key Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program for RSR preparation.
• Support daily operations by loading and unloading route trucks.
• Transport clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences.
• Operate a company walk-in truck along designated routes, prioritizing safety.
• Engage in a physically active role across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to the success of the Service Department by delivering outstanding service and building customer relationships.
• Maintain a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Driver's License & Safe Driving Record: Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• DOT Compliance: Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including a physical exam.
• Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or military service.
• Strong Customer Service Skills: Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
• Relevant Experience: Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using and learning new technologies.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 lbs., with the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
