About the Role
Join Pet Supplies Plus as a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) and embark on a path to becoming a professional groomer through our free, paid training at the Paragon School of Pet Grooming. This role involves providing exceptional service to pets and their owners, learning grooming techniques, and maintaining a clean and inviting grooming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Delight neighbors and pets with grooming services, including brushing, bathing, and trimming nails.
- Learn and demonstrate all skills necessary to become a groomer through an online distance program.
- Ensure the wellness and safety of all pets.
- Develop long-term relationships with neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
- Perform routine cleaning to maintain a fun and inviting grooming environment.
- Successfully complete Safety Training certification.
- Assist store team members during grooming downtime.
- Get comfortable with all tools and grooming equipment.
- Learn how to bathe and style dogs to breed standards.
- Attend free, paid training through the Paragon School of Pet Grooming.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to review videos and take tests online.
- Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and validated selection test.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or other industry working with pets is preferred, but not required.
- Passion for people and their pets.
- Ability to provide exceptional, neighborly service.
