About the Role
GRX Holdings, LLC, a family-oriented group of independent pharmacies, seeks a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicap Pharmacy in Ames, Iowa. This role involves processing and filling prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow company policies and procedures, including register performance, security, and confidentiality.
- Greet customers and answer questions.
- Receive prescriptions and verify their validity.
- Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring accuracy of all information.
- Resolve issues, such as rejected insurance claims.
- Select appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
- Sort, stock, label medication, and monitor inventory.
- Undertake administrative tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist the pharmacist with technical functions including measuring, counting, labeling, record keeping, and communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, professional, and friendly service.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee. (Note: Registration must be obtained prior to commencing employment if not currently registered.)
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician is a plus.
- Experience with an online prescription system is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement is a plus.
