About the Role
The Cybersecurity and GRC Intern will support client engagements and internal projects by assisting in cybersecurity assessments, information security reviews, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities upon fully trained and certified. This is a part-time, WFH role with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and gain exposure to real-world cybersecurity and GRC practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cybersecurity assessments.
- Assist in information security reviews.
- Assist in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities upon fully trained and certified.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Foundational knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information Security concepts.
- Basic skills in Network Security, including understanding network architectures & security protocols.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to interpret technical information and document it clearly.
- Relevant certifications or coursework (such as Security+, ISO 27001 foundation, or similar) are an advantage but not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
- Interest in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).
- Desire to self-learn the concepts in GRC.
- Completion of a degree program in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation & Progression
- Initial three-month learning period is Unpaid.
- Following the initial period, a paid internship may be considered based on demonstrated skills, learning progress, business requirements, and role availability.
- A paid internship is not automatic or guaranteed. Any subsequent engagement will have its own agreed terms and compensation.
