Articled Assistant

About the Role

K & S Chartered Accountants is seeking an Articled Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in Chennai. This role involves supporting audit, accounting, and taxation engagements under the guidance of senior team members. The position offers structured training, exposure to professional standards, and opportunities to build strong technical and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in statutory and internal audits.
• Performing vouching and ledger scrutiny.
• Preparing working papers and documenting findings.
• Supporting the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Working on GST and income tax compliances.
• Maintaining accurate books of account and reconciliations.
• Preparing financial statements.
• Compiling management reports.
• Coordinating with clients to collect information and clarify queries.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic knowledge of accounting software (such as Tally or similar).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
• Understanding of Indian taxation laws and GST.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Attention to detail.
• Capability to prepare clear working papers and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional approach to client interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and handle multiple assignments while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• High level of integrity.
• Willingness to learn and openness to feedback and structured training.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or eligible for Chartered Accountancy articleship.
• Strong foundation in accounting and auditing principles.
• Completion of CA Intermediate or equivalent qualification as per ICAI requirements.
• Good academic record is an advantage.
