Cinematographer

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Cinematographer role based in Chennai. You will work closely with directors and production teams to translate creative concepts into visually engaging shots, sequences, and scenes.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning shot lists.
• Operating cameras.
• Selecting lenses and equipment.
• Setting up lighting to achieve the desired mood and look.
• Collaborating with the production crew on blocking and composition.
• Supervising camera and lighting teams on set.
• Ensuring visual consistency across the project.
• Participating in pre-production meetings, location scouts, and test shoots.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to operate professional cameras and related equipment, with strong Camera Operation skills.
• Experience in Video Production workflows, including planning, shooting, and collaborating with post-production teams.
• Background in Film Production, with understanding of set protocols, schedules, and coordination with directors and producers.
• Strong Cinematography skills, including composition, framing, movement, and visual storytelling.
• Proficiency in Lighting design and execution for interior and exterior locations, including natural and artificial light setups.
• Knowledge of digital formats, lenses, and camera sensors.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment and manage time on set.
• Portfolio or showreel demonstrating a range of visual styles and completed projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in film, media, or visual arts, or equivalent professional experience in cinematography.
