About the Role

DeTales Design Stories by Interior Designer Nidhi Shah is a full-time, on-site Interior Designer role based in Ahmedabad.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts.
• Prepare mood boards.
• Select materials and finishes.
• Support space planning for residential and commercial projects.
• Create and update construction drawings.
• Coordinate FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment).
• Work closely with vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate execution.
• Conduct site visits.
• Perform measurement and documentation.
• Conduct quality checks during execution.
• Resolve design or coordination issues.
• Assist in presentations and client meetings.
• Maintain project documentation and design standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in design and drafting software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools).

Qualifications

• Strong Interior Design skills with experience in concept development, detailing, and FF&E selection.
• Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize layouts for functionality, circulation, and aesthetics.
• Understanding of Architecture principles to coordinate interiors with structural and architectural elements.
• Ability to create and interpret Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, and detailed joinery drawings.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Strong visual and material sense, including knowledge of finishes, lighting, and furnishings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and site teams.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Previous experience in residential and/or commercial interiors in an on-site setting in Ahmedabad or similar markets is an advantage.
