About the Role
Senior DevOps Engineer to own our AWS and EKS platform, including infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, cluster provisioning, upgrades, scaling, CICD, GitOps-based deployments, disaster recovery, observability and event-streaming systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision, configure and manage AWS Infrastructure and EKS platform using Terraform.
- Configure and manage Amazon EKS clusters, and perform EKS version and add-on upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Design and manage AWS infrastructure: VPC, Route53, IAM, EC2, ALB/NLB.
- Own Kubernetes architecture and troubleshoot production issues (networking, scheduling, pods, resources).
- Configure and manage Ingress controllers and Istio service mesh (traffic routing, mTLS).
- Implement autoscaling using Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler, HPA and KEDA.
- Set up Disaster Recovery environments and implement Blue-Green / Canary deployments.
- Manage GitOps delivery using ArgoCD and Blue Green Deployments using Argo Rollouts.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness, GitHub Actions, and/or Jenkins.
- Integrate observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) using Dynatrace, Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana.
- Manage event streaming and messaging systems: Kafka, AWS MSK clusters, SQS.
- Lead incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, including production upgrades.
- Strong hands-on experience on Terraform.
- Strong AWS experience: VPC, Route53, IAM, EC2, ALB.
- Strong Kubernetes experience: architecture, troubleshooting, Ingress, Istio.
- Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler, HPA, KEDA.
- DR setup and Blue-Green deployments.
- ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, GitOps.
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions / Harness / Jenkins.
- Observability tools: Dynatrace / Datadog / Prometheus.
- Kafka / MSK / SQS.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred), Helm, scripting in Bash/Python.
Qualifications
- Nice to Have:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- CKA / CKAD
- Terraform Associate
- Experience with multi-account AWS setups and cost optimization.
