Retirement Business Analyst-Senior

About the Role

EY is seeking a Senior Retirement Business Analyst for its Global Delivery Services (GDS) organization, specifically within the Retirement Business (BTI INS). This role supports EY's growth agenda by providing effective client service and enablement services.

Key Responsibilities

• Defined Benefits Operations: Manage operations including benefits calculations, benefits review, and calculations for retirement, termination, disability, death, and divorce.
• ERISA Compliance: Handle US Retirement Plan Testing (ADP & ACP Testing, Corrective Distribution) and Reporting.
• Money In and Loans: Manage money in and loan-related activities such as check processing, contributions, loan initiation, loan repayments, and re-amortization.
• Protected Retirement Solutions: Design or evaluate protected retirement solutions using insurance-wrapped investment vehicles.
• Recordkeeping Platform Enhancements: Support enhancements to recordkeeping platforms for in-plan income features, including income projection tools, guarantee tracking, and participant-level income illustrations.
• Disbursements: Process distributions/disbursements such as hardship withdrawals, QDRO, RMD, in-service distributions, and loans.
• Plan Administration: Oversee plan administration, group and account setup, and eligibility.
• Vesting Rules and Investment Management: Understand and manage vesting rules and investment management.
• PMO Functions: Support or lead PMO functions for large-scale retirement transformation programs, including project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate across business, technology, and vendor teams to align with project timelines, scope, and quality standards for retirement platform implementations or upgrades.
• Decision-Making and Process Optimization: Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management for task execution.
• Personnel Allocation and Supervision: Allocate personnel, supervise team members, assign tasks, ensure teams have necessary tools and support, and evaluate performance to meet organizational goals.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Consulting Skills:
• Experience creating business process maps for future state architecture.
• Experience creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for overall conversion strategy.
• Experience with requirement refinement processes in multi-vendor engagements.
• Requirements Gathering and Elicitation: Writing BRDs and FSDs. Conducting JAD sessions and Workshops.
• Work with clients to define optimal future state operational processes and related product configurations.
• Define scope by providing innovative solutions and challenging client requirements, while ensuring business value.
• Deliver clearly defined requirement documents with relevant dataflow and process flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with product design and development teams to analyze and extract functional enhancements.
• Provide product consultancy and assist clients with acceptance criteria gathering.

Industry certifications (ASPPA/LOMA/RPF) will be an added advantage.

• Technology Skills:

• Experienced in data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and security.

• Skilled in data analytics for informed decision-making.

• Strong understanding of data governance principles.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of in-plan guaranteed income products such as annuities embedded within defined contribution plans (e.g., target date funds with income guarantees).
• Exposure to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) study and Public Pensions.
• Understanding of business rules of Payout, Qualified/Non-Qualified Plans, Roth Conversion, Roth IRA, Fiduciaries, Defined Contribution, Defined Benefits/Pension.
• Proven ability to work effectively as a team member and build good client relationships.
• Collaborative team player, able to work closely with stakeholders and technical teams.
