Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

To build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. Provide L2/L3 support for infrastructure and application stack while driving automation, reliability (SRE), and release excellence across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Provide deep experience in infrastructure engineering activities, including IAC, automation, design governance, and troubleshooting.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Perform assigned activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement.
• Build modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls, and release automation.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect, Security, Platform, and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Support cross-platform initiatives through working knowledge of iOS development principles and mobile ecosystem standards.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives.
• Act as a strong advocate of clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages. Use data to drive down mean time to resolution.
• Implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, utilizing software scripting/coding disciplines.
• Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats, including protection of hardware, software, and data from unauthorized access.
• Plan and execute OS patching cycles; maintain compliance with security and audit requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive runbooks, knowledge base articles, and support documentation.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ITIL-aligned processes and SLAs (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira).

Requirements & Tech Stack

• In-depth technical knowledge and experience in Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Shell script, Datadog, Python, API, Docker, containers, ECR, EKS, and GitLab.
• Programming language: Python or Java.
• Technical Skills: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Shell script, Datadog, Docker, containers, GitLab, Snyk, Qualys, Jira, Confluence, Datadog, JUnit, Maven, Gradle, and NPM.
• AWS cloud computing: EC2, ECR, EKS, S3, Cloud Formation, networks.
• Database design and SQL.
• Operating System knowledge: Windows, Linux, and awareness on AIX.
• System design and architecture.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modeling.
• Ability to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation while applying sound engineering judgment.
• Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data or domain models.
• Experience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Familiarity with MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration concepts.
• Experience contributing to technical designs and proof of concept work.
• Very good understanding and solid hands-on on cloud computing systems, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of containers and hands-on experience in EKS/Docker, also ability to write and deploy Helm chart.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus) to improve release velocity and quality.
• Hands-on experience in Blue-Green deployments and good understanding of various other deployment strategies.
