  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electromechanical issues and verify corrective actions.
  • Review customer-specific programs and system configurations to confirm proper operation.
  • Document test results, identify nonconformances, and serve as a final technical checkpoint before product release.

Troubleshooting & Field Service

  • Troubleshoot actuator and control system issues at customer sites and remotely.
  • Diagnose system faults, perform repairs, and support equipment restoration to minimize customer downtime.
  • Travel to customer facilities as needed to support installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and product evaluations.
  • Provide technical guidance and customer training on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Quality & Product Reliability

  • Investigate product failures, warranty claims, and returned material authorizations (RMAs).
  • Coordinate the RMA process from initial customer communication and diagnostics through repair recommendations, scope definition, and quotation support.
  • Maintain accurate records of failures, repairs, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Trace recurring issues across machining, assembly, and final testing to help identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to implement corrective actions and improve product reliability.
  • Identify trends and recommend design, process, or testing improvements that reduce repeat failures and product returns.

Engineering & Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.
  • Provide practical feedback from testing and field service activities to support product development and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation, work instructions, test procedures, and customer support materials.
  • Support prototype evaluations, product modifications, and other technical projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on aptitude and a strong interest in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to use test equipment, interpret technical information, and follow systematic diagnostic procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Preferred

  • Exposure to hydraulic systems, servo valves, pumps, actuators, or fluid power technology.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, motion control, servo systems, industrial automation, or control software.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Experience with multimeters, pressure gauges, sensors, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Exposure to product testing, root cause analysis, corrective action, or quality systems.
  • Experience documenting technical findings and communicating solutions to customers.

Desired Attributes

  • Enjoys hands-on work and solving real-world technical problems.
  • Takes ownership of issues and follows them through to resolution.
  • Approaches troubleshooting logically and methodically.
  • Is comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly.
