Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for incubated products and technologies. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kasaragod.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and review CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Perform basic design calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Prototype mechanical components and systems.
• Coordinate with fabrication and testing teams.
• Iterate designs based on performance, safety, and cost considerations.
• Document design specifications.
• Support design reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and 3D modeling.
• Ability to produce clear technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and materials.
• Applied skills in Machine Design and Product Design, including design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Relevant skills such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret standards and specifications are beneficial.
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is preferred.
• Prior internship or industry experience in mechanical or product design is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Kasaragod.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form is required.
