About the Internship

• Work on cutting-edge projects involving debt investment banking with simulations.
• Engage with real-world financial projects spanning fixed income, structured finance, risk management, and artificial intelligence applications in finance.
• Engage in multiple mini-project simulations across a large number of functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Fixed Income Analysis and Valuation:
• Calculate Yield to Maturity (YTM) and assess returns on different types of fixed-income securities.
• Determine Present Value (PV) of securities and assess market pricing strategies.
• Debt Investment Strategies:
• Compare investment options including direct corporate bonds, non-convertible debentures (NCDs), and debt mutual funds.
• Risk and Portfolio Management:
• Assess interest rate risks in structured finance instruments considering prepayment risk (Macaulay and Effective Duration).
• Quantify bond price sensitivity to market changes (Interest Rate Risk and Convexity).
• Develop machine learning models to estimate portfolio risk (Value at Risk).
• Evaluate AI-driven risk profiling tools for investors (Virtual Risk Analyser).
• Credit Research and Risk Analysis:
• Clean and analyse economic data to assess sovereign risk profiles.
• Build AI-driven models to predict corporate bond defaults (Probability of Default Modelling).
• Quantitative Finance and AI in Debt Markets:
• Construct and analyse yield curves from market data (Zero-Coupon Yield Curve).
• Understand AI tools to enhance financial modelling in Microsoft Excel.
• Investment Banking and Structured Finance:
• Examine spreads between investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds (Credit Spread Analysis).
• Evaluate risks and returns of different Asset-Backed Securities types including credit cards and auto loans.
• Determine optimal bond issuance for a solar power project (Project Finance Modelling).
