On-Site Installation Lead
Wakefit
About the Role
You will own how Wakefit Home Interiors gets installed in customers' homes: on time, right the first time, at a sustainable cost. This is a 0 to 1 role. You will build the systems for on-site quality and timely execution, then lead a team of carpenters and work with external agencies to deliver against them.
Key Responsibilities
- Build the on-site quality system
- Define installation quality standards and site checklists for each stage of installation.
- Create SOPs that carpenters can follow consistently, with minimal dependence on any one person.
- Set up snag capture, root-cause tracking and closure, so repeat issues are fixed at the source.
- Own the handover standard: what "complete" means before the customer signs off.
- Build the timely execution system
- Plan and schedule installations so sites are ready, material is on site and crews are assigned before work starts.
- Track every installation against its committed timeline and flag delays early.
- Work with production and dispatch so what reaches the site matches what was designed.
- Lead the carpenter team
- Hire, onboard and train carpenters on Wakefit standards and SOPs.
- Allocate crews across sites to balance quality, timelines and productivity.
- Build skill development and accountability into how the team works.
- Manage external stakeholders
- Be the on-site point of coordination for customers and other external parties involved in installation.
- Resolve escalations at site and feed recurring issues back into the system.
- Keep it sustainable and cost-effective
- Track installation cost and find ways to reduce it without lowering quality.
- Choose solutions that scale with volume rather than adding headcount for every problem.
Qualifications
- Experience in a 0 to 1 role is essential.
- Ability to build repeatable, cost-effective solutions.
