About the Role
Aurora's mission is to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly. The Aurora Driver will create a new era in mobility and logistics, one that will bring a safer, more efficient, and more accessible future to everyone. At Aurora, you will tackle massively complex problems alongside other passionate, intelligent individuals, growing as an expert while expanding your knowledge.
We're searching for Summer 2027 Full Stack Engineering Interns. You'll work on the product layer of Aurora's autonomy — customer apps, operator interfaces, and real-time visualizations that make a self-driving freight system legible, trustworthy, and usable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship features across the front end and back end of a customer-facing or internal operator application
- Work with modern web technologies (React, TypeScript) and, depending on team, real-time graphics (Three.js, WebGL) or cloud services
- Incorporate real user or stakeholder feedback into iterative product changes
- Use AI-native tooling (LLMs, agents, tools like Claude Code) as part of your normal engineering workflow
- Take ownership of a project from concept through deployment
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Has shipped a web application that real users used
- Working experience with TypeScript and React (or a comparable modern web framework)
- Solid CS fundamentals
- Can describe the full request/response data flow for loading a web page
- Judgment about when and how to use AI coding tools without outsourcing debugging or critical thinking
Desirable Qualifications
- Three.js or other real-time graphics/WebGL experience
- Experience with backend services, databases, caching, or authentication beyond a static site
Compensation
Hourly pay rates vary by location and degree program.
- Mountain View: $52.00/hour (Bachelor's), $58.00/hour (Master's)
