Junior Software Engineer

About the Role

• You'll ship production code from your first week, not toy features, but real systems.
• You'll have access to mentorship by senior engineers.
• You will work directly with the co-founders, CTO Huy Huynh & CEO Matthew Levin plus another senior engineer.
• The role is on-site at 221 Canal St, NYC.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship features end to end with AI agents.
• Contribute to the full-stack (backend, frontend, infrastructure, deployment).
• Write production-grade code with tests.
• Handle edge cases.
• Own what you ship.
• Pair with senior engineers and founders, learning by doing.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ruby on Rails 8.1, Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus), Postgres, and AWS.
• Experience with Rails is not required.
• You use AI tools to write code and are intentional about how you work.
• Effective cross-disciplinary communicator.

Qualifications

• You've built and shipped something real (e.g., a side project, an open-source tool).
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, systems design, ability to reason about how things work under the hood.
• Formal CS education is not required but first principles knowledge is.
• Nice to have: familiarity with any OOP language, open-source contributions, or publicly visible work.
