About the Role

Mainfreight Americas is seeking ambitious, driven, and entrepreneurial individuals to join our Leadership Development Program within our Los Angeles Ocean Branch. This program is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals passionate about building a career in sales, business development, and leadership.

About the Program

The Leadership Development Program provides hands-on training and real-world business experience to prepare participants for a future in logistics sales and leadership. You will gain exposure to:

• Ocean import and export operations
• Customer service and account management
• Freight forwarding and supply chain solutions
• Pricing and quoting
• Carrier and vendor relationships
• Sales strategy and business development
• Customer retention and growth
• Branch operations and profitability
• Leadership and team development

By building a strong operational foundation, you will develop the knowledge and credibility needed to become a trusted advisor to customers and a future leader within the organization.

What You'll Do

During the program, you will:

• Learn the fundamentals of ocean freight operations and global supply chains.
• Work closely with operations teams to understand how freight moves around the world.
• Assist with customer communications and account support.
• Participate in customer visits and business development activities.
• Develop consultative selling skills and customer relationship strategies.
• Research prospective customers and identify growth opportunities.
• Learn how to prepare freight quotations and transportation solutions.
• Build relationships with carriers, vendors, and customers.
• Attend sales training, branch meetings, and development sessions.
• Support branch growth initiatives and special projects.

As your knowledge and confidence grow, you will transition into a greater customer-facing and business development role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• 0-2 years of professional experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and connect with others.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, athletics, or leadership experience.
• Interest in sales, business development, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take ownership of challenges.
• Desire to build a long-term career and grow into leadership opportunities.
• Comfort interacting with customers and building professional relationships.
