Product Designer (Fintech, 30L)

About the Role

This role focuses on owning the design language and experience consistency across the platform. Key activities include building the design system from the ground up, translating complex financial information into intuitive interfaces, and collaborating with Product Managers early in the product development lifecycle. This position involves working closely with Product, Engineering, and founders towards a broking launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the design system from scratch, establishing components, tokens, themes, colors, interaction patterns, and visual language.
• Design across 10+ trading tools, including screeners, charts, option chains, and strategy builders, taking products from early concepts to production-ready designs.
• Create a unified trading experience across multiple product pods, ensuring consistency.
• Simplify complex financial interfaces by transforming dense market data, multi-state workflows, and time-sensitive trading decisions into clear and easy-to-navigate interfaces.
• Define AI interaction patterns for natural-language queries, AI-generated insights, code-backed screening results, and AI assistance.
• Lead UX research, including speaking with retail traders, running usability tests, studying user behavior, and translating insights into product decisions.
• Benchmark top global products, including Indian brokers, global trading platforms, and crypto products, to understand emerging interaction patterns.
• Bring a strong design point of view, forming a thesis, supporting it with research or data, and driving team decisions.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong experience designing B2C consumer products at scale, ideally with millions of users or downloads.
• Experience in fintech, trading, investing, crypto, or other information-dense financial products.
• A portfolio demonstrating excellent work across complex dashboards, data tables, charts, transaction/order flows, or multi-state interfaces.
• Strong understanding of products such as Zerodha Kite, Groww, TradingView, or similar trading platforms.
• Experience building or meaningfully contributing to a design system, including component libraries, tokens, and cross-product consistency.
• Hands-on experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and UX research.
• Ability to move quickly from ambiguous product problems to production-ready designs.
• Strong product judgment and the confidence to defend design decisions with research, data, and clear reasoning.
• An eye for brand, visual language, tonality, and overall product personality.

Bonus Points

• Experience designing AI-native or conversational products.
• Experience with natural-language interfaces, copilots, or generative AI outputs.
• Deep familiarity with trading workflows, derivatives, options, or active retail trading.
• Experience designing products during a 0→1 or high-growth stage.
