Ocean Gold Sailing Club
About Ocean Gold
Ocean Gold Sailing Club runs the Ocean Gold Yacht Race (OGYR) — India's first-ever offshore passage race, from Mumbai to Goa. Season II sails 3–10 January 2027. We work with category and tier sponsors across luxury, apparel, hospitality, and lifestyle brands to build out the event's partner ecosystem.
The Role
You'll sit at the center of our partnership pipeline — from identifying and qualifying prospects through to helping close the deal. This is hands-on pre-sales work with real ownership, not a shadowing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and shortlist prospective sponsor brands and partners; qualify them against OGYR's category and tier fit.
- Draft and refine outreach prompts, intro emails, and follow-up sequences.
- Help build and customize sponsorship proposals and pitch decks for individual prospects.
- Support outbound calling and follow-up with prospects to schedule and move presentation meetings forward.
- Track the pipeline and keep deal status current through to close.
- Assist with on-the-ground negotiation support — gathering what's needed to help hold the line on deal terms.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Graduate, with excellent written and spoken English.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable working with AI tools as part of the daily workflow.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
- Natural sales instincts — outgoing, gregarious, comfortable on the phone and in a room.
- Sharp enough to read a deal, understand what's negotiable, and hold ground when it matters.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with luxury audiences and the brands operating in that space.
- Prior exposure to sailing or sailing communities — an active sailor is a strong plus.
Compensation
- Non-paid internship.
- Performance bonus tied to revenue goals achieved for Ocean Gold Sailing Club over the internship period.
Why Join
- Rare, upper-crust exposure — yacht racing is a genuinely distinctive line on a resume.
- Direct exposure to luxury brands and to how partnerships with them get built from the ground up.
- A real seat in the sales cycle — prospecting through to close — alongside experienced, successful colleagues.
- Access to well-heeled prospects and the luxury-partnerships world most internships never get close to.
