Cashier

About the Role

The Cashier role at Green Conceptions Africa (GCA) is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle customer transactions.
• Operate the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Manage cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
• Issue receipts.
• Process returns or exchanges in line with company policies.
• Maintain an organized and secure cash desk.
• Answer customer queries.
• Provide courteous service.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth checkout experience.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of shifts.
• Follow all cash-handling procedures.
• Support basic administrative or inventory-related tasks when required.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Proficiency with basic computer operations.
• Comfort with digital payment platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong cash-handling skills, including accuracy in counting, reconciling cash drawers, and managing different payment methods.
• Effective communication and customer service abilities, with a courteous and professional approach to resolving customer inquiries.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures and security guidelines.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, manage a fast-paced environment, and work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings when needed.
• Prior experience in a cashier or retail/customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
