About the Role
The Vertex SOX PMO Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards a bachelor's or graduate degree in accounting. This role will support the SOX PMO team by assisting in evaluating and documenting key control/process changes/control findings, supporting the team with process walkthroughs, and monitoring the status of various SOX deliverables to internal and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the team on process walkthroughs (in areas of Revenue, Inventory, Treasury, SEC Report, GL Accounting, and IT Processes)
- Optimize Company’s SOX reporting tool
- Monitor status of deliverables to internal and external auditors
- Prepare metrics for quarterly management status meetings
- Documenting key control changes for presentations to senior management
- Facilitate collection and review of quarterly control certifications
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams in the organization on projects as needed
- Assist with various ad hoc projects (e.g., system implementations, globalization and harmonization efforts)
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in accounting or business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (Excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize accordingly
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Qualifications
- You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2027
- You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January – June 2027

- Pay Rate: $20.00 - $35.00 USD/hour
- Program Dates: January – June 2027
