About the Role
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Parham Doctors' Hospital is a year-long program designed to provide hands-on experience and establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will be part of a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents, aiding the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient for therapeutic response.
- Notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for understanding.

Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience needed.
- Some travel may be needed for training.
