About the Role
Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a Steward / Dishwasher for the newly opened Hotel Indigo Raleigh.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides the restaurant and kitchen with clean and sanitary ware.
- Gathers dirty dishware, rinses, and stacks in dishracks, clearing leftovers and trash.
- Loads full dishracks onto the belt for automated washing.
- Operates the automatic dishwashing machine.
- Loads dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates detergent/chemical output.
- Unloads clean dishes, inspects for cleanliness, and stacks in specified carts and shelves.
- Manually scrubs pots, pans, and kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically.
- Dries and puts away manually scrubbed items.
- Manually polishes silver, stainless steel, and pewter.
- Maintains automatic dishwashing equipment in good working order.
- Keeps the dish room clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping surfaces, and organizing shelves.
- Mops kitchen floors as requested and at the end of each shift.
- Cleans kitchen work surfaces, walls, ceilings, hoods, vents, and ovens as scheduled.
- Gathers and empties trash cans from kitchen work areas into the outside trash compactor at the end of each shift.
- Sweeps loading dock and kitchen entrance areas, clearing litter and debris.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Ability to see minute objects at arm’s length, read meters and controls.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. (serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, small equipment) up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to travel up to 300 feet.
- Ability to stand on a regular basis throughout the shift.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded/noisy situations.
- Ability to keep breakage to a minimum by handling china, glassware, and fragile equipment with care.
Environment
- Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout the entire shift in a 95% indoor environment.
- Ability to work in freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees.
Compensation
USD $15.00 - USD $16.00 / Hr.
