Windchill PLM Architect Consultant

About the Role

A leading global specialist in energy management and automation is looking for a Windchill PLM Architect Consultant. This role involves designing and customizing PTC Windchill solutions, handling PLM–SAP integrations, technical architecture, and leading development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements / business problems, evaluate technical feasibility, and translate them into technical stories / tasks with estimates.
• Develop features across multiple subsystems, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Investigate, analyze, and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades, and modifications.
• Coordinate and communicate status with stakeholders through summary reports, dashboards, and service registers/logs.
• Ensure deliveries are in accordance with established process and quality standards.
• Mentor and guide junior team members on their tasks and assignments.
• Analyze and resolve active production incidents as needed.
• Oversee and supervise development and testing of stories and features at the scrum team level.

• Exposure to Parts link concepts like classification management, attributes, IBAs, enumerations.
• Hands-on experience with web services (RESTful API development) and writing webjects.
• Integration with downstream ERP systems like SAP PO / PI, SAP APD.
• Core Java / J2EE / OOPS concepts-based programming experience on different web applications (server and client side).
• Hands-on experience on IDEs (Eclipse / Netbeans or equivalent).
• Functional knowledge of PDMLink:
• BOM management
• Change Management
• Part Management
• Part life cycle
• ESI configurations
• PDF Publishing
• CAD management
• Worker agents
• Visualization services
• ERP integration with SAP
• Hands-on experience on Oracle DB / SQL developer for queries, joins (inner, outer etc.), procedures, functions, indexes, sequences.
• Peer code reviews and corrections.
• Managing and documenting server configurations.
• Exposure to agile development methodology and at least one change management / ALM tool (e.g., RTC CCM, Version one, Integrity).
• Exposure to source code management systems (e.g., RTC clear case, GIT, RTC SCM, Subversion).
• Knowledge of version management and DevOps Practices.
• Experience in technical write-ups, architecture diagrams, deployment diagrams, solution integrations, and estimations.
• Worked on Data Migration / ETL processes using WBM.
• Exposure to Windchill modules like SUMA, Service Information Manager, Translation Management, Supplier Collaboration.
• Knowledge of Thingworx - Navigate dashboarding.

Skill Set

• PLM: Windchill Java, J2EE, HTML, AWS, INTELLIJ/ECLIPSE, GIT, Oracle SQL, Linux commands/scripts, Windchill PDMLink, MPM Link, PartsLink, Project Link, Options and Variants (preferable), Service BOM Management (preferable)
• Language: Core Java, J2EE, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, PL/SQL, SQL
• Application Tools: Eclipse, NetBeans, WINSCP, SQL developer, Putty, SVN
• Server: Exposure to Apache Tomcat, Websphere, JBOSS etc.
